I bought a 2TB My Passport external drive a short time ago and used it for some Time Machine backups. It worked. Then I decided to password protect it. Today I wanted to do another Time Machine back up and unlocked it using the password, and I clicked unlock drive. However, Time Machine said that the My Passport drive was unavailable. It still has the lock icon on it and when I open it it only opens in the WD Unlocker window. If I double click the Unlock icon sometimes nothing happens. The window is frozen (although it will close). At other times it will allow me to enter the password but remains locked. Any suggestions?
Hi, can you try on a different computer? Have you tried using different USB cable and USB ports?
