New 20T G Raid TB3 on Old iMac and Macbook Air?

Hi all,

I just brought a new 20T G Raid TB3 without checking compatibility…

I found it can’t connect to my two Macs below and my questions are:

  • 2011 iMac 27" with old TB -
    Q. Is the TB3 to TB2 adaptor works?

  • 2017 Macbook Air using TB3 to USB cable
    Q. The MacBook Air say it can’t recognized the drive, what can be done?

Q. Do I need to buy new iMac/MacBook with TB3 or New Window Surface work? Thanks.

Yes you can use adapters to work on older Thunderbolt connections. Just make sure your iMac does indeed have Thunderbolt and not just mini-display.
