Hello,

I’ve a 2014 iMac with thunderbolt 2 ports. I’m wondering if G-Tech G-RAID 16 tb with Thunderbolt 3 can be used with my iMac? What kind of adapters will I need?

Yes, You will need the Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter and make sure your computer is on Mac OS 10.12 or newer.

Thanks Rydia for a prompt response. Unfortunately I am unable to find an Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter anywhere (not even online), however I do see Apple thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapters online. I am wondering if I get an Apple thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter and connect it to the G-Tech drive and use a thunderbolt 2 to 2 wire to connect my iMac to this adapter, will that work out fine? Thanks.

That is the same thing, the 3 and 2 are interchangeable in the order represented in the adapter.
