N900 External HDD issue

I have connected a 2TB drive to my N900 for DLNA and FTP use. So far I have been able to access the drive twice while it has been connected to the N900. The drive seems to just drop out and can’t be used after some time. I have checked the drive on my computer and everything looks like it should be working fine.

I have tried following the manual to setup for the FTP usage as well. I have a username / password setup for sharing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello, need to ask you some questions first. DoestheUSBharddrivedropsout, oralsotheMyNet? AreyouusingaportableUSBpoweredharddriveoronethatusesapowersupply?

When logged into the Router interface the HDD always shows as connected. On the PC side I can see that the MyNet900 shows up constantly under networking. The HDD that I use is powered from the wall.

On a side note, could you please type using seperate words and not an entire sentence combined into a single “word.”

I have the same problem.  HDD is accessable when I start up my notebook.  After some time the HDD is not accesable anymore.  The HDD is powered from the wall.  On the router (MynetN900) a PC is connected.  There I can acces the HDD all the time.  On the notebook it drop’s out.  The notebook works on windows 8.  When restart the notebook the connection with the HDD is back.
