MyCloudPR4100 "Network Link Down" issue after upgrade to OS5

I’ve a MyCloudPR4100 device, it had no issues with OS3, but after upgrade to OS5 it keeps to show the warning “Network Link Down”. Also in Network settings it says “Status No Internet access”.

This issues locks also from check for new firmware, and access to available applications.

I’m able to connect with the NAS, and I’m also able to access with SSH. The strange thing is that from SSH I’m able to ping everywhere, also outside to internet. So it has definitely an internet connection, but OS5 is not able to recognize it.

EDIT: I’m running 5.06.115 firmware

Please check your access to Google DNS Servers.

From SSH it succeeded with nslookup dns.google.com:

nslookup dns.google.com
Server: 192.168.178.1
Address: 192.168.178.1:53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: dns.google.com
Address: 8.8.8.8
Name: dns.google.com
Address: 8.8.4.4

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: dns.google.com
Address: 2001:4860:4860::8844
Name: dns.google.com
Address: 2001:4860:4860::8888

but doesn’t return any package with ping 8.8.8.8. Other pings like ping google.com work.

Ping to 8.8.8.8 works from my machine on the same net, so it shouldn’t be a lan issue.

What about traceroute 8.8.8.8 ??

This the traceroute:

At this point is evident how issue is outside of my net. I’ve verified, and on my machine the ping to 8.8.8.8 works because I’m under a VPN, but fails if I use internet without it.

Can I workaround this check?

There’s no way to bypass the check, but as long as everything else is working correctly, the message can be disregarded.

Unfortunately other things doesn’t work as expected. I can’t install applications, I can’t configure cloud, I can’t automatically check for new firmwares. But if it worked before, and the issue is external, I’m sure that this will be a temporary issue.
Thank you anyway.

My Cloud OS 5 uses different ports and cloud infrastructure than OS 3.

  1. Can you get to the json file?

    curl -v “https://downloads.mycloud.com/os5-apps/apps/GZA/GZA_MyCloudPR4100/GZA_MyCloudPR4100.json”

  2. What about Proxy Server on Port 8443?

    curl portquiz.net:8443

I was able to download and manually install required apps from the json link, thank you.
The port works, but until the dashboard is convinced that there is no internet, internet access is inhibited.

Not a big issue now, if it will disappear when external routing will be solved. It worked before, and have been able to install apps already solved a lot of issues.
