MyCloud timing out since OS5 upgrade

Recently upgraded to OS5. Cannot access dashboard via os5.mycloud.com, locally using remotewd.com, or locally using direct IP address. Accessing folder structure via Windows explorer takes forever to show the folders. It’s timing out. I know that indexing saps the life out of these units but it’s been four days now.

Can’t get any information because dashboard is inaccessible.

Should I wait another few days to see if it works after indexing?

Well, it’s been two more days and still no access to my dashboard. Backups are taking three times as long, and my patience is three times as short.

Here’s my not so humble opinion:

This is a consumer product and as such should work out of the box with consumer gateways. I don’t want to be told to open ports, forward ports, or change my gateway security settings. OS3 worked out of the box with my gateway and OS5 should too. I think WD really stepped in it with this ham-fisted attempt to modernize the product. I’m sure they will work it out eventually but I won’t be around to see it - I’m throwing in the towel and looking into competing products.

Generally it appears many are having trouble with the indexing the OS5 firmware does when it is installed or when one perform a My Cloud reset. It causes problems with Dashboard access, sluggish Dashboard and apparently issues with accessing the My Cloud using Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder, and occasional failures to access the My Cloud remotely.
