Hello,
I have a query regarding the mycloud EX2 does it allow RAM upgrade or is it on the board? As I am hoping to open it up and hope to upgrade ram even if it becomes unsupported.
See the dedicated subforum for the EX2. This subforum (My Cloud) generally deals with the single bay/single drive My Cloud which does not have upgradeable RAM.

The My Cloud EX2 does not appear to have user upgradeable RAM. Apparently only the following WD My Cloud multi bay models support user upgradable RAM:
My Cloud DL2100
My Cloud DL4100
My Cloud PR4100

So its fitted into the board? And sorry didn’t know it was subfourm
If by “fitted” you mean “soldered” to the board then yes. Typically the RAM modules are either permanently fixed to the motherboard/backplane, or part of the SOC (System on a Chip) for the lower end NAS devices like the entry and lower end My Cloud line of devices.
