MyCloud EX2 is always off line - error code 907 Network Connection Failure

I have been having persistent issues with maintaining my MyCloud connection to a WD EX2 device. The same error occurs: Network Connection Failure error 907. Researching the issue I have taken a number of steps to correct the problem

I have directly wired my device to the host router (no wireless link)
I have applied a fixed ip address
I have reinstalled the WD Mycloud software
I have manually reinstalled the connection in both my computers and my phone.

Once I have done the reconnection using a code the device will work immediately but…after a couple of days or so the link is broken. I also have difficulties logging in through a browser

In principle the Mycloud service is a great idea but in practice it seems very unstable and prone to error.

Any thoughts on how to make the connection more robust??

I have used the code and, as I mentioned in my note it will work temporarily. My suspicion is that this whole problem originates on the WD servers. This problem is widespread and widely reported.

Again, a really good idea and if it worked well I would get rid of Google Drive and OneDrive. But unfortunately the WD solution is not very robust.
