I have previously bought a WD passport and downloaded WD security and WD utilities and the drive shows up fine.
Recently I purchased a WD Elements and when plugged in to my computer it recognises that there is a HD in it and I can copy on to it but I want to put password security on to the drive and when I click on to WD security app it doesn’t recognise that there is a drive attached and just says to attach a recognised WD drive, The utilities app does not recognise it either but the data life guard app does see it and I have run both tests and the HD passed both tests.
Can anybody help me with this?
That’s because the WD Elements doesn’t support encryption.
As well, WD Utilities wouldn’t be needed for the drive because it has no features needing that.
