My Passport - WD SmartWave have the back up and retrieve tabs grayed out

I am opening WD SmartWave and PC recognized External Drive. In WD SmartWave version 1.6.4, the tabs back up and retrieve are grayed out . I can’t access them.  I started a back up yesterday, stopped it correctly, and I want to complete it today. I can’t click on back up tab.  Windows7 HomePremium 64bits.

I want to add my voice to having grayed out backup and retrieve tabs. The solutions provided deal with the My Book product but my question, and others likewise, are asking about that problem using MyPassport
