My Passport Ultra and MacOS Sierra reformat for Time Machine use

Hi, I’ve got a new My Passport Ultra drive and tried following the steps (https://support.wdc.com/knowledgebase/answer.aspx?ID=3865#elcapitan) to reformat for use with Time Machine on macOS Sierra 10.12.5 (Time Machine Backup and Restore from macOS to a WD External Drive), however I got stuck at step 6 and got the error alert below. Does anyone know where I can go from here?

Hello,

Make sure you have the drive selected and not the partition. I had this issue before and it took me a while before I noticed I was making that mistake.
