I just bought a My Passport Ultra 4T Drive to use as a back-up for my MacBook Air. I read the instructions on how to initiate the process, which was to go to the Time Machine Preferences on My Mac, select the MyPassport Ultra . However I got an error message the moment it started the Selection. How can I get past that? The error says “Preferences Error There was an error in Time machine Preferences”
I went back to the user guide and it seems that Wd Passport does not support Mas10.12. Is that so? Could that be the problem?
