My Passport Ultra-1TB is taking forever to start backing up

I recently purchased a My Passport Ultra 1 TB drive. I hooked it up to my computer. I have had it hooked up for about an hour and a half, and it is still at 0% out of 356GB. Is this normal?

If it is WD Smartware then I recommend you uninstall and reinstall the software.
