My Passport is not recognized

I have an external Western Digital HDD USB 3. Model   MDL: WD10JMVW-11S5XS1

Without apparent cause is not recognized by any PC.

I use Windows 7.  The HDD does not show in Disk Management.

The LED lights steadily when connected and I hear the rotation noise.

I asked the seller to do data recovery and asked for it 400 euro.

The amount is too large.

I am able to do recovery data from   SATA HDD.

I opened the disk.                                                                                                                                                                     On either side of the USB connector has on one side a group of 12 pins in 2 rows and the other side a pair of pins.                ( http://superuser.com/questions/686930/extra-pins-on-wd-mypassport-hard-drive-controller-board)

I think with proper connection to these pins will enable SATA connection.

Please if someone can recommend me the appropriate SATA PCB connectors.

Many Thanks for any answer.

Hello,

I don’t recommend trying to recover the data yourself. Try contacting one of the data recovery companies recommended by WD to see what they can offer.
