My Passport for Mac not detected at Mac, but lighting up

Hi,

I tried to perform a transfer of huge amount of pics (100 GB) from a folder located at My Passport to Photo Library (161 GB), which is also located at My passport (different folder).

Suddenly, the Photo app stopped working and, after restart the Mac, My Passport unit is not recognised at my Mac. The HD is lighting up every two seconds, but it seems to be in a endless loop.

I’m very concern. Could you please help me out? I’d like to know what My passport unit is doing

Oh man I have the same problem, we have two 4tB drives and for last two days can’t access all our files!!! Hope someone has a answer for us… thanks C

Don’t have a solution, but have the same problem with an Ultra 1T within the last month, not sure how long it hasn’t worked because I haven’t tried to backup my Mac for a month. Used it only for backing up the Mac. Seems the Mac can no longer find it. Bought a new WD Passport and plugged it in. The Mac can find it, so seems to indicate that the hard drive is defective.??? Tried the new power cord just in case the old cord was defective, no luck with that either.
