My Passport Essential lost password

Hi

I have WD external hard disk, unfortunately I forgot the password. I need to restore it without losing my data. Is there a way to do that?

Hi and welcome to the WD community.

Try to remember the password on the device, I believe there is no way to remove the password unless the drive is erased. My best advise is to try to check the hints to see if it helps remember the password. Lets see if another user can share some tips and information on this matter.
