I require some clarity with respect to My passport content to be played on television:
Is it safe for my passport to play directly its content onto the Tv? If yes, what are the guidelines to be followed while playing on the tv? What I have heard is that unlike computers where it gives command to hard drive to shut itself down, in Tv it won’t get such command and it can damage hard drive in long term. Am I correct?
Need to format NTFS drive to Fat32 for the drive to be compatible with my tv. Is Formatting to fat32 safe?
3 Is partitioning safe? Thought I will partition drive into two drives i.e one is NTFS and another as Fat32. So if the drive with Fat32 failes, then at least data in NTFS drive will be safe.
Well there is no harm for My Passport to use with TV.
And it is also safe to format the drive in FAT32 but you will be able to use only 32 GB of the drive, rest of the partition would be un-allocated.
Well formatting the drive in FAT32 file system will make the capacity of the drive as 32 GB however, you can format the drive in NTFS file system and it will be compatible with TV file format.
No, partitioning will not let you utilize the total capacity of the drive. So, we would not recommend that.
