I have several My Passport 2TB, both standard and Ultra, and all work without problems on my Samsung TV and newer Smart TV, but my latest 4TB fails to be picked up by either TV. It works fine on PC. All the EHDs are formatted to NTFS so this is presumably not the reason for problem. Any advice or suggestions?
the 4TB will be using GPT (GUID Partition Table)
the 2TB drives will be using MBR (Master Boot Record) Partitions
Some external devices are not compatible with GPT and will only work with MBR
catch: MBR supports a Max Partition size of 2TB. GPT supports up to and greater than 2TB.
