I’m new in this Community and so first of all I would greet each Member that participate and contribute.
That being said, I would kindly ask some clue about a sudden failing behavior I’m faccing with my portable “My Passaword Ultra 1Tb” that I use at least 3 or 4 times in a year and that suddenly is not recognized by OS (Window 10 Professional 64bit latest maintenance level) or better I see the drive and its assigned letter in the list of “This PC” but trying to access it this is not available.
By troubleshooting it with MiniTool, after many attempts, I was able to see the disk on the MiniTool dashboard and even explore its content that is integer; while the disk is on MiniTool dashboard and you may explore it the same disk is not available on Windows Explorer.
By me , I feel some thing wrong in MBR and/or FileSystem but I don’t know how to diagnostic and even fix troubles in these arena.
I review a lot of post either in this Community or others Forum where I found the same failing behaviors but I didn’t get any working solution unless an RMA to return defective disks , when covered by warranty, to the Manufacturer.
This problem is let me very worried about because I have many Users that have purchased such kind of portable storage upn Trust ands Reputation on WD that now is under review because of it seems this kind of failing behaviors are very pervasive and invasive since many archive can be lost in a moment even with low usage of the portable disk protected at the best from dust and shocks.
Hoping someone can help to diagnose and fix the reported problem as well as hoping I may be wrong about low realiability and integrity of such portable storage, thanks a lot in advance for any clue about.
