Currently have ALL shares set Media Serving OFF and DLNA set OFF and WD TV Live Streaming seems okay.

Is there an advantage to using DLNA/Twonky with WD TV Live Streaming?

Not really for WD TV Live.  Other devices such as smart tv will require DLNA to stream.
