I have a My Cloud - can I update to the new ‘My Cloud Home’ software?

No you can’t, My Cloud and ‘My Cloud Home’ are two completely different products.

Keep in mind that ‘MyCloud Home’ is intended to be a much simpler device (which is too simple in my opinion now), not a better version/iteration, and most of the more ‘advanced’ features that were on MyCloud are no longer available on MyCloud Home, since, again, they are two very different devices.
Look in the My Cloud HOME forum for the many reasons why NOT to replace a My Cloud with the MC HOME.
