MY CLOUD - Online access

Morning All … have had a MY CLOUD 3TB running now for a bout 4 months and have a couple of questions I was hoping someone could help me with

  1. I am running the MY CLOUD software to access the cloud directly ( don;t like the sync software ), but is there anyway of saving files direct to the cloud without saving locally and then dragging and dropping ? (ie map network drive or the like )

  2. I know you can “attach” multiple files to and email but this only provides a link in the email. is there again anyway way of attaching the full file direct from the cloud without pulling it down locally first ?

  3. is there also anyway of accessing the “configuration” page from a remote site ( ie setup new users etc )

thanks for any help or advice in advance !

If you are talking about REMOTE access then officially the only methods of accessing the My Cloud remotely is using the WD My Cloud Desktop program, the WD mobile apps, the MyCloud.com web portal or the insecure FTP option. If you have not read the My Cloud User Manual (http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/library/?id=439&type=25) you should as it explains the various methods of remote access. Or see the following WD Learning Center links, or see the My Cloud Dashboard Help.

If you are on your local network, map the My Cloud to your local PC and use Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder to copy files to/from the My Cloud.

Unofficially there are several methods, all NOT supported by WD, for remote accessing the My Cloud. One way is to use the CloudDAVMod which would allow mapping of the My Cloud remotely.
