My Cloud Home 8TB - Is DLNA available?

Dears,
I got a new WD My Cloud Home 8TB (WDBVXC0080HWT), how can i use DLNA on it, i don’t want to use PLEX, just want DLNA , is there a way or shall i sell it ?, is there a software upgrade or firmware upgrade or something to enable DLNA (NOT PLEX) just DLNA and can use “\” at windows to access it to copy files, if DLNA can not be enabled, what model is providing DLNA with 8TB ex: is MY CLOUD 8TB DLNA enabled or which model??
Thanks you.

Have you already looked in the User Manual?
User Manual: My Cloud Home and My Cloud Home Duo (westerndigital.com)

Have you checked in the Knowledge Base?

The easiest way is to sell it and get a USB HDD and plug that into a router that supports DLNA (most routers with USB ports do support DLNA, the best support comes from Asus routers). The older generation of My Cloud using OS3 and OS5 do support Twonky which is a simple DLNA /UPnP Media Server.

Plex has an option to enable DLNA. While you would be using Plex, you would access the files just like any DLNA server.

can you please tell me how ??

yes, nothing said about DLNA as like the feature is removed !

can you please tell me how ??

OMG, SELL IT ???
okay, if i sell it , what 8TB model you recommend plz ?

Install Plex using WD’s webpage interface. When you configure the Plex server, there’s a DLNA option to tick.

i did install
when press configure
i got this error

This page isn’t working right now

HTTP ERROR 502

any clue !!

This is probably not the best subforum for this question, but if you like WD external HD then you could choose a number of products discussed in this subforum:

well, thank you tekram for your answer, i meant to get others experience of the working model since this model is working with DLNA and not to get another model with the same problem (i dont want to reinvent the wheel ), hope you got my point!
