Hello
This product is yours.
I request a way to be developed to update.
There is a lot of data in it that is important to me.
You stop almost everything to run it doesn’t work properly. I’m waiting for you to tell me the ways I need to follow so that we can update.
You can continue to access your OS3 My Cloud on your local network using Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder or a mobile file manager app. From the above WD link:
Q: Will my device stop working if I can’t upgrade to My Cloud OS 5? Will I lose access to my data?
A: After the services are shut down, you can only access the device on a local network. Access through the My Cloud OS 3 mobile app or web app won’t work. Email notifications won’t be delivered. Devices that had auto-update enabled received a final firmware update that disabled remote access and outbound traffic to cloud services. Now, support has ended and you have to use your local network to access your device.
You can still map local network OS3 My Cloud Shares using Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder.
Because WD is no longer supporting OS3 and will likely not be releasing any newer firmware. You have the option of downloading GPL Source Code versions of the OS3 firmware and compiling your own version of the firmware with updated or new features that you program yourself. Note: Compiling the GPL source code typically requires additional computer knowledge and skill. You assume all risks and responsibilities when compiling and using the GPL firmware.
See the section WD My Cloud GPL Source Code - Supports 04.xx.xx in the Download section on the single bay/single drive My Cloud Support web page for the v4.x GPL firmware versions.
For build instructions, please refer to the README file(s) in the GPL source code in the available download.
Please ensure you are using the correct WD My Cloud source code for your firmware version. The GPL source code is firmware specific and is not compatible with My Cloud devices using a different firmware.
The firmware version can be found on the opening dashboard user interface of your My Cloud device.
Instructions to access the device dashboard can be found at the beginning of Chapter 6 in the user manual. WD Documentation
