I have a caviar green MyBook 1.0 TB WD10EARS. A lightning strike knocked out the house current for less than 1 sec with the computer on. I can reboot the computer but thie MyBook shows up with 0 memory. The Device Manager WD SES Drive says that the devic is working properly. However the only thing I am allowed to do is reformat.
I’d like to save the images on the drive, Is therre any app or utility that would open the directory long enough to copy the drive contents or ,better yet, restore the directory and allow me to use the device in a normal fashon???
THanks for your help.
Hi,
Sorry to hear about that.
As a recommendation, try looking for a data recovery software online to see if you are able to recover some of the files.
Going around in circles. Perhaps I haven’t found the correct place to post this question… My problem is that I need to rebuild the registry for my (by now I understand-4 year old mybook model wd10ears. I have tried several suggestions in this forum section, none have worked. One fellow said that he just filled in the blanks, but forgot to mention where to find them.
I’d greatly appreciate being pointed at any software that could access the address in the register that might fix this.
Thanks again for any help.
