Moving file very slow [Passport Essential SE 1tb USB2.0]

Hi there,

I bought a Passport Essential SE 1tb USB2.0 last month, and I had reformated it by accident, and now it is like some other normal external harddrivers, and I found it is very slow for moving files, especial I moved a folder which has some videos (around 15GB), the transfer speed drops from 31mb/s to 800kb/s after a few secounds.

I wonder is that something wrong with my harddriver ? or do I have to install a WD smartware for backup and recieve files ?

Hello,

I’ll suggest you to check the USB cable and if possible test your drive using another computer, just to make sure if the issue belongs to the drive or the computer USB port.
