Movie files missing

Hi,

I am now using WD TV live with latest firmware. Just bought 3TB my book and transfer all of my movies inside. Recently I have found that some of my movies are magically disapear from its folder. its look both player and HD are in good condition. Has anyone comes to this situation? Could not afford to loss more movie :frowning:

If you connect the my book to the computer, can you see the files? Also check if the space is still occupied by the movies.Ā

If I connect my book to computer, the particular forlder will become inaccessible. Yesterday, loss another 2 movie :frowning:

I think I am having this same problem.

If I look at it on the pc, the file will be turned into a folder, and wont be accessible. Ā If I delete the ā€œfolderā€, it will go to the trash or a folder called Found.000 and will be renamed as $RDQLX7G.mkv or similar. Ā I can usually restore it - but this only happens on a HP External for some reasonā€¦

I hate this problem. Ā Would love to know what I am doing to cause it, and how to prevent it.

Hi, I would to know what type of player you all use. For me, I am using WDTV Live. Thinking of changing the player, but I am affraid the problem could also be on other type (WDTV Live plus or etc). Perhaps we can isolate the cause. I am only face this problem when I introduce My Book 3TB to my WDTV. The thing is, the movie store on My Element 2TB also gone. This problem never happened before when used the 2TB. PLease share your info/knowledge as well. Thanks

Same problem here, random movie files and music files will be converted to directories. I use 2TB WD hard drive.

If I connect the HDD to my computer I can see the files as directories, but I cannot delete them or do anything with them.

I am using the last official firmware,

It must be either a nasty firmware bug or a virus coming from the Internet. I am very disappointed.
