Last guy to have problems using a Seagate 4T drive in a WDTV Live unit?

I tried to go through the posts and solutions and I even see guys with 5T work!

I have a simple 4T USB 3.0 Seagate external that the WDTV Live just won’t see as 4T.

I formatted it NTFS and filled it with folders with MKVs/Pics/music etc. plugged it in and nothing.

Select local media and doesn’t see it at all. Plugged in front or back.

I tried exfat - no go.

I re-initiliazed to MBR which setup 2 partitions. Windows 7 64 would only allow 1st partition to format.

I re-initiliazed back to NTFS and setup 2 partitions. WDTV only see’s 1ST partition.

Yes,I can share it off another computer on the network or off the router but am I missing something here?

I have the latest firmware…

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thx in advance.

Hi there and welcome to the WD community.

I personally have not tried this, but lets see if another user can share some tips and information on this matter.
