My son is accessing my MYBOOK remotely from university using the WD2go app, he can stream avi / mp4 files but cannot stream mkv, they either do not stream at all or only show video, no audio. When attempting to access mkv files his laptop defaults to wondows media player which has the latest codecs but it still wont stream mkv. Anyone else seen this problem and have a solution?
I am able to stream mkv files from the MYBOOK via my WD media player without any issues.
.MKV Is a container file for different codecs. There could be something in particular incompatible between his phone and the files unless they do play while on your local network. This goes for the computer as well.
