Is there anyway to unlock an external drive without Windows NTFS permission?

I have an external MyBook drive that is set up so only one windows user can access through the NTFS settings. My question is it possible to unlock this drive if I ever lost that Windows user profile? Im not sure if I use the WD Security program whether any other machine would allow me to unlock the drive with that Security app even though only one windows user has the NTFS access.

Any help would be great.

Hi jamesey271975,

When setting a password on the device with WD Security, there is a Auto Unlock feature to allow the device to auto unlock for this computer. It will ask for password if WD Security software is not installed there.

Does that auto unlock it for all users on the computer or can it only unlock automatically for one of two users on a. Windows machine?
