Hi, I’m trying to format my WD My Passport to Mac, something I had always done successfully in the past. I followed the instructions and went to erase the disk adding Mac OS Journaled. However, on this occasion, it informed me that the erase had failed. Now when I try to reconnect the disk it says it is not readable by this computer. When I click initialize and try to erase again it informs me that the disk is full?
Can anyone give me a solution, please? Or have I killed the disk.
If you have access to a PC, try writing zero’s to the drive then reconnecting it to the Mac and trying to format again.
I have the same problem with a brand new My Passport drive. I don’t have access to a PC only my MacBook. I have tried ID3865 and ID14925 with no success.
Any suggestions?
Thank you, I managed solved the issue just. What I did was click on the open all on the left-hand side. This gave me the main folder. I then did the erase disk on this folder. This folder did not show initially in disk utility. This has worked now.
