A few years ago I bought a My Passport for Mac before we moved. I couldn’t format the drive, so I decided to mess with it later. So I picked it back up today, and tried it again. Same thing. I’ve researched the forums all afternoon.
When I use the Mac disc utility, I can’t format it, getting the “Unable to write to the last block of the device” message. I downloaded the WD utility and get the “Failed to erase the drive. An error occurred while trying to erase the drive. Please ensure that the device is connected to the system and try again.” I can’t even diagnose the drive.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.
