I couldn't reformat my brand new WD Elements 1TB HELP!

Hi Guys,

I just bought a new 1TB WD Elements external hard drive (USB type only. no power adapter). Tried saving files and when it reached the 40GB mark, it crashed and now I couldn’t even format the drive. Tried using WD Quick Drive Format software but it does not recognize the drive and notified to plug in a hard drive.  Windows couldn’t even read the drive volume description.  HELP!!! :womansad:

Using Win7 Enterprise 32-Bit.

Have you try to write zeros to the unit. Also check the disk management to see what it says.
