How to access MyCloud (even online or via connect to server) from another network, away from the one that I set it up, on Mac?

Hello everyone!

I need a help how and what I have to do to connect to MyCloud (on Mac) , but from another place away from my home network that first I set up MyCloud.

Like, I set MyCloud at my home’s network but I can’t find out how to access it from my office network.

Also in the general settings on mycloud.com in the section Cloud access - the cloud service is ON.

Thanks,

Demetris

You should read the My Cloud User Manual (https://support.wdc.com/product.aspx?ID=904) if you haven’t already. It explains how to use the various features of the My Cloud including how to access the My Cloud remotely. Or see the My Cloud Learning Center (http://mycloud.com/learn/?id=mycloud) which also explains how to access the My Cloud remotely using a Mac or PC or mobile device.

To access the My Cloud remotely you first need to enable Remote Access through the My Cloud Dashboard > Stettings. Then grant User accounts (in the Dashboard) remote access. From there you can use the various WD programs / mobile apps or the MyCloud.com web portal for remote access. Currently there is NO official way to “remote map” the My Cloud like one can do from the local network.

So the only way to access My Cloud outside of my network is the WD My Cloud app (Mac) ? Even if I use the same laptop that I used to set up My Cloud?

“or the MyCloud.com web portal for remote access” , means you can log into the portal from any PC.

No as my post indicated you can use one of the WD apps/software programs or you can use the MyCloud.com web portal to access the My Cloud contents (but not the Dashboard). Currently you cannot access the My Cloud Dashboard remotely without using VPN or something similar on your local network.

If you haven’t visited the My Cloud Learning Center link in my post above you should visit it to learn more about how to access the My Cloud Remotely:
