Help - My Cloud Home

I hope you can help. I have had a MyBook Live for many years and it’s been great, and has all my photos on there, and I back up to a portable hard drive.
As MyBook Live is not supported with the App, and its getting on a bit, I thought I would by a 8TB My Cloud Home (Recertified) RWDBVXC0080HWT-EESN for a good price. Now I have buyers remorse and have many questions running through my head from what I have read.

  1. I am reading that My Cloud Home is not supported after June this year, is that true ?
  2. The Desktop App is no longer available ?
  3. Can I just plug my MyBook Live via USB into the My Cloud Home and transfer everything across ?
  4. I am reading reviews that the data transfer is so slow, and if there is no internet connection at home I cannot access the drive. That worries me, can you access the data if there is no internet ?

I did look, and apart from the Desktop App being withdrawn - nothing to say it’s being discontinued etc.
However, some of the posts on here make me nervous that it will be no longer supported and obsolete.
