I have just used my passport yesterday and today my mac will not even read it. I went to utility and I can see it but I cant access it. A co worked ask me if I could access the file via a PC and I could. I was told (i dont know if this is true, This is common and that is why Apple stores have pulled the hard drives from their inventory. Please help me all my family photos are on this hard drive.

If the drive is accessible in Windows computer, you can take backup of the data from the drive and then reformat the drive to fix the issue.
