Hi ! I am freaking out here. I am a photographer and have a WEDDING to deliver in a few days, but there are some major important moments like the cake, the bouquet toss, missing! About a month ago, I did some arquitecture photo shoot, and this same thing happened. The files where in the hard drive, I double checked, even selected with a mark. And just some random files disappeared. I though this had been my mistake. Ever since I super double check I am saving all the files at least three times. So this time I really did… And now, I have at least 500 missing images, for something I Can’t re take!
Please, is there any way I can check any hidden files , protected, locked, or anything similar?!

I probably can’t help, but others may be able to. First, give more info.What are you using, a PC or a Mac? Same for drive, is it for a PC or a Mac? Where is the location of the original files, and their file type? Are they being directly copied to the portable drive and do you have backups of them anywhere?
Thank you for your answer. They are Raw files, copies directly to my passport for Mac. Working in a MacBookPro. No back up of the files… lesson learned. My computer was full at the moment so I just went with the passport. Usually the passport is the backup. No cloud space. I am wondering is there any hidden file section in My Passport portable hard drive, that i can check. Any special command to show other files? I can’t even understand what is happening
I use PC and not a photographer with a camera that creates RAW files. So, what did you copy them from, an SD card? So did you copy the files directly or add to backup file on drive? Others will have to help you further.
Thank you Mike. I copied directly from SD card to Passport. No backup.
Hopefully others could answer and help me out a bit.
aren’t the photos still on SD card?
