HDD type for My book STUDIO II

Hi!

I have My book Studio II ( WD20000H2Q-00 ) box whith RAID 1.

What type of modern HDD (model and so on) can I install into this box for replacing one of  its own disks if it will have some problem?

In complect was installed two WD10EADS-00P8B0 1TB but now I can not buy it.

Hello,

We can only recommend replacing the internal drives with exact same drives as the ones that were included.

Using different drives might not work.

I don’t really know why you would expect other drives not to work, however:

Those original drives are not advanced format drives, all modern drives are. So if you replace with an AF drive you might notice slightly slower write speeds.

I don’t know for sure but I would expect any WD green or WD red 1tb drive to work in there, and my preference would be red. Stay away from 7200rpm drives (WD black etc.) as you’ll probably cook them.
