Every time I switch off my PC I have to reboot the EX2 Ultra for it to show up on the network in File Manager. This is an enormous pain in the butt. I’ve scoured the settings page and can’t find any way to activate the EX2 without rebooting. Is there a way to do this?

A couple of suggestions in addition to what has been suggested about seeing the dedicated subforum for the OS5 My Cloud EX Series.
If using Windows, ensure you have the Network Profile Type set to Private and not Public.
Ensure that File/Print Sharing is enabled in Windows.
Configure the My Cloud for a fixed/manual IP reservation in your local network router’s DHCP Sever section. See your router’s administration page for setting a manual IP reservation for network clients like the My Cloud.
Check any security or firewall software on the computer to see if it is filtering or blocking access to the local network clients.
