Hi, I just bought a WD5000LPVX external drive for my PS3, i am trying to connect to my laptop via USB so i can check the files format and it does not recognise the disk, i dont really know how to identify if the problem is the adapter or the disk, can someone help me? When i connect the adapter (USB-Sata) to the laptop, both a red and a blue led turn on, then when I connect the disk to it, it remains the same but the laptop is not detecting it.

If it is an internal hard drive. You would have to partition and format the hard drive first. Use you Disk management to do it. But if you use for your PS3. It will then reformat the hard drive again. Good Luck
Your computer can’t see your external hard drive?
Don’t worry, let’s fix it!
- Check the cables: Make sure everything is plugged in tightly.
- Try a different USB port: Sometimes that helps.
- Update your computer: Outdated software can cause problems.
- Look for the drive in Disk Management: This tool can help you see if the drive is there.
If nothing works, try the hard drive on another computer.
