(wanted to post this in SanDisk Professional category btw, but I’m not allowed to for unknown reason, it’s not in the choices)

So I’m interested or was interested into the G-RAID SHUTTLE 4, but I’ve read a lot of bad things about it, notably thing being DOA, or the fan running continuously even if the Shuttle isn’t being used.
I appears like some of the issues should be fixed with a firmware update, but it apparently was never fixed over the years.
Also, now that Sandisk and WD splited, who is responsible for these updates? Sandisk is selling that same G-RAID SHUTTLE 4 with SSD instead of HDD…
There is a huge lack of communication from WD concerning their G products in general, there is a lot of complains and I’ve yet to see transparency.
People on the forum here, notably automatically get a “did you contact support” despite the fact there has been issues know for years and were never fixed. Nobody give answers.
I also heard terrible story about the after sell services… but I won’t comment on these. I’ll just say that I’m having a hard time trying trusting this company and their products…. The decision or purchase is very difficult to make as I don’t feel like gambling on if my drives will fail or not. There are professional products, the situation if abnormal and WD needs to address it.
