G-Raid 12TB (Thunderbolt 2) Suddenly Disconnected – Red Flashing Light & Clicking Noise

My G-Raid 12TB with Thunderbolt 2 suddenly disconnected while I was using it. It was working fine yesterday, but today macOS says "Disk Not Ejected Correctly.”

Now, the front light (normally white) is flashing red rapidly, and the unit is making a subtle clicking noise. I tried removing both HDDs and powering on the enclosure alone, but the red light persists.

My Questions:

  1. Does this indicate that the enclosure is dead?
  2. Are there any troubleshooting steps I can try?
  3. What are my data recovery options?
  4. Since I believe my setup was RAID 0 (striped), is there a way to use macOS software RAID to access the drives directly?
  5. I have both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs available—would either help in recovery?
  6. Should I order a replacement enclosure, and if so, what’s the best option?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have checked the knowledge base and searched for similar threads. While there are related discussions, none seem to match my issue exactly or explore the topic in more detail.

The links you provided appear to be generic support pages rather than addressing the specifics of my situation. I was hoping for more technical insight or troubleshooting suggestions rather than just being directed to general support.

I understand that I can contact Western Digital or spend hours searching through forums, but I was looking for community-driven insights that might offer alternative solutions or help confirm whether my enclosure is truly faulty.

If anyone has firsthand experience with a similar issue—especially regarding RAID 0 recovery options—I’d appreciate your input!
