The manual is a little thin when it comes to a description of the different backup types. It would be nice to know more details about the functionality of each type. Is there a more detailed description of them somewhere or can someone provide one?
There are different ways to take a backup of Direct Attached Storage drives (DAS) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices. There are different methods available, you can use tools provided by WD drives or tools provided along with Operating System. You should refer this KBA for backup related concerns:
