FTP Setup issues

Sorry if anyone have seen this post in My Cloud section but I should have posted it here instead.

Here are my queries…

Hi I wonder if anyone could help me with my ftp issues with EX2 Ultra?

Here’s my setup:
• ftp enabled and port forwarding set on Dashboard
• port forwarding set on router
• share settings done
• ftp client (CyberDuck) on remote Mac

When access remotely, it says connected but all I could see is a a blank directory.

If I typed in the path (/Music) it says no directory found. Had also tried "" and lower case as well.

I’ve tried different users (admin with all access and user with limited access) but both return with same blank directory.

Also tried both active and passive modes and issue remains.

Is there something/somewhere that requires further setting up?

Did you enable the FTP access on the shares you want to connect to? Go to the Shares menu, select the share and make sure FTP is enabled on the share. This needs to be done on each of the shares you want to access through FTP.

Yup, that’s done as well. I even set up admin and a user with different shares just to test it.

Unfortunately, my knowledge of FTP is limited. If you are connecting but no data is showing. I would try changing the permissions on the shares for testing. If you are trying to access private shares. Try making them public and see if you can get access for testing purposes. If that doesn’t work, double check the port settings. Also, did you enable the FTP port service at the bottom of the networking menu on the EX2?

I had a similar issue; however, not the same as yours. I would say…disable the FTP first and recreate it again. Be careful though. You might lose your data on the FTP server. Good luck.
