Thanks in advance for any help, would really appreciate it. :smileyvery-happy:
There is a FTP section on manual:
Thank you for your reply and i did mange to read through the manual,
As i understand that if your using a windows based operating system you would be able to map a drive via ftp remotely, i.e, i would be able to transfer data from one hardrive to another without being local at either location, is this correct?
If so the problem im having is that im currently restricted to an android operating system and my only access is via the wd2go app.
Is there any other way?,… could i not just input an address into the remote output path in my ftp program to save files onto MLB drive?
If you want to save a file from the android device to the MBL via the internet or locally via wifi, an app with FTP capabilities should do it. Check “ES File Explorer”, there are plenty more apps.
Now FTP is not a secure protocol at all, so if security is a concern, SCP/SFTP would be the option.
And last, if you open FTP to the internet, you will need to use your internet IP and find a way to notify you of the IP change, unless you have static. Look into DDNS.
