I bought a 1tb wd passport hard drive… It’s formatted to NTFS… It words on a SEAGATE media drive I gave but It won’t work on any of my tvs directly. I tried reformatting it to EXFAT but then it wouldn’t work on anything except my laptop so I’ve had to change back to NTFS… Any ideas how I can get it working on my LG tvs??
That’s more a question for LG; but my guess is they only support FAT16 and maybe FAT32 file systems (if you’re lucky).
Another possibility is that LG doesn’t support GPT format, only MBR. You’ll need to compare the two drives to see what’s different about them.
Hi Tony, thanks for reply… I have a loan of a SEAGATE hard drive which is formatted NTFS and it works no problem. I’ve checked it on a neighbours TV, it’s a Samsung and works no problem… So it’s def something to do with the compatibility with LG… Very frustrating
