so i just recently bought me a macbook air with a wd my passport ultra 2tb external hard drive. i formatted the hdd to exfat32 cause i wanna load movies on to my ps4 from it and every video i have on my hdd doesn’t show up on my ps4, what am i doing wrong

I have a PS4 but i have never tried using an external drive.
According to some non-official information it does support external drives if they are formatted as FAT32 or exFAT.
I recommend you post the same question on the PlayStation community.
One thing you know for sure is that your drive is working properly because you can see it and use it on your computer.
