How do I make sure that all the data is deleted and cannot be restored after I format the drive and bring it back to the store?! Is full restore really safe or I have to take some additional action?! I do have bunch of work documents dont want to be seen.

a “Full Factory Restore” will overwrite the HDD and restore the MyCloud to your purchased configuration. Depending on the size of your MyCloud this full restore will take 24 to 30 hours.

No one here can guarantee that.   The drive will write zeros over the entire data partition.   

Whether or not that makes it 100% certain it’s impossible to recover data is a subject best answered by data recovery experts.
