Folders not showing up in Smartware

I have two WD My Books and a couple of other external hard drive types, including the My Passport Ultra. I’ve noticed lately that when I open smartware, it’s not always showing new folders like it should. I wait and wait, but eventually it shows everything is backed up. Just now when I was using the Windows Explorer File Manager that those folders are showing with everything there (all the latest new folders and files inside them).

There has to be a glitch somewhere because these folders and files are not showing up when I’m in WD Smartware and looking at my folders and such. I feel like I need a REFRESH button or something. I first noticed this late last year and early this year. I just thought it was a fluke because until then new folders and files showed up immediately. I ended up renaming a folder and making a new one and finally it showed up.

Can anyone assist me with what is wrong here?

Technical Details: My first WD My Book was purchased in November 2011. I then bought the WD Elements in April 2013. Next, I bought a second My Book in February 2015. My Passport was purchased in November 2016. I’ve been a happy and satisfied user over the years and am eagerly looking forward to getting one more portable WD units that I need. I’ve noticed this issue on the second My Book and the My Passport. My first My Book is basically set to things that don’t have new folders very often, but the other three often have new things, especially that 2nd My Book and the Passport. I don’t use the Cloud for anything. These are all just static external hard drives. I’m still using Win 7, though I don’t believe that matters for these units. The My Books are always connected to my PC. The Elements and Passport units I plug in only when there are updates for them.

Just try to uninstall the WD Smartware and Re-install it.
