Firmware as of 24th Oct 2019

What is the actual correct up today firmware please for WD my cloud?

Just looking at the board and I see there’s two one at the top older than the one posted below.

Checked for up date I am up to date.
Here is what I have on the WD

One can download the very latest firmware for the single bay My Cloud from the WD Support website:

Firmware Release 04.05.00-342 (09/04/2019)
https://downloads.wdc.com/nas/sq-040500-342-20190805.deb

Firmware Release 2.31.195 (09/11/2019)

Hi Bennor

I was hoping for someone like you with superior knowledge of WD to just give the answer.
I bring your attention to
1: I have auto update on in WD my cloud.
2: link here says the future to come or is it error ? Note we are in October 2019 as of today 24th October 2019.
Firmware Release 2.31.195 (09/11/2019)

Hence my confusion and asking.

I take a look and post the answer myself.
Reason for asking hacks are being made to speed up transfer rate and many people it appears having issues with WD connectivity- or should I back up to synology box and bin the WD my cloud maybe it’s had its day now ?

Personally I have auto update turned off on the My Cloud. Would rather manually update due to past instances of auto updating causing problems for others.

For what ever reason those who administer this website often do not post new firmware notices to this subforum forcing we users to post threads indicating updated firmware (like this thread: http://community.wd.com/t/new-firmware-04-05-00-342-09-04-2019-and-2-31-195-09-11-2019/241704/11). WD does typically post firmware update notices to the news/announcements page:

@anon59787009 If you own a 2nd generation WD My Cloud you are up to date. See example image below of the information provided when this update was made available for download. You can check Announcements & Discussions for information about updates. You may want to do this every month or two.

Cheers cat,

Ok I now know I am up to date.
This is what I have.

Ok thank you Bennor,

I not stop to think about manual up dating OS - however given my recent experiences of OS Catalina - I have everything of auto up dates now.
